Akita - specific clubs that are linked to or referred to on this page are for informational purposes only. Our (CRAA) philosophy is that a person does not have to "belong" to benefit. In this day and age asking someone to volunteer their time and donate their hard earned money is a personal choice and should not be a deciding factor in regards to someone's love and dedication to the Akita. A group that denies you educational or mentoring experiences because you are not "a member" is fundamentally wrong.

American Kennel Club (AKC) - American Registry for dogs. Contains a wealth of information about breeds, events, breeders, clubs, judges directory, registration, government relations, etc.
Coalition for Living Safely with Dogs - Information about living safetly with dogs.
Akita Club of America (ACA) - is the National Club which represents, protects, and furthers the interests of the Akita dog breed and its owners throughout the United States. Member of the AKC.
Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) - hip, elbow, patella, thyroid, etc registry. To collate and disseminate information concerning orthopedic and genetic diseases of animals.
Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF) - registry of purebred dogs certified free of heritable eye disease
