Come out and watch the Akitas compete in the conformation and obedience rings. CRAA is supporting the Akita entry at the Mt. Rainier Working Dog Specialty Show during the week of the Rose City Classic Dog shows. We have purchased trophies for all the major awards including Highest Scoring Akita in Obedience
What: General Meeting
When: Saturday, January 21st
Where: Rose City Classic (Expo Center) - Portland, Oregon
Time: After the Akitas show. 12:45 p.m., Ring 15, Building D
Cost: $8 parking
Akitas will likely show closer to 1:30 p.m. We will find a place to convene afterwards.
This will be a general meeting for the club to talk about upcoming ideas for 2012. Hikes, training events, educational talks, retreats, picnics...if you have an idea come and share it with us.
What: Preparation Class for the AKC Canine Good Citizen program
When: March - exact date TBD

Go to www.akc.org and search for the CGC test and it will tell you the 10 points that a dog is tested on to become a Canine Good Citizen. The plan is to continue to work on the necessary skills (March, April, May) and if you feel your Akita is ready you can participate in the CGC testing at the Clackamas Kennel Club show in Canby in June.
